I have had hopes for this being one of the few big projects that breaks ground this year. The site plan has seemed close to approval for a while, and there has been ongoing activity towards approval. But it expired last week. I've seen expired site plan applications change to an active status after a day or two due to a possible Admin issue. I hope that's the case for this project.

Also, activity on the site plan applications for many of the bigger projects has slowed or stopped over the past few months.

After having an "expired" status for going on two months, the site plan status changed to "Waiting on Legal".

The fast track site plan was posted to the AULCC page on Monday. It doesn't show the elevations since it isn't the full document.

It has a small set of elevations that are of a high enough quality to read, and there have been no changes since the last elevations.

The site plan status is still "Waiting on Legal." But they must be planning on starting Demo soon because an excavation permit for retiring utility service was filed.

Another good sign...

An FAA tower crane filing was made today for a 420' crane.

This one is getting closer to starting. A permit was filed with the City for a tower crane license agreement.

The FAA crane filing on 01/25 lists the work schedule as 07/01/2021 to 03/01/2023.

Are those the dates for crane installation? Presumably there would be some significant work prior to the crane erection (demolition, excavation, utilities, foundations, etc.)

I believe you are correct. I think it's safe to assume construction (i.e., demo) will begin in late 2Q2021 and the product will deliver in early-to-mid 2Q2023.

The site plan went into review today after a long time at "Waiting on Legal" status. That would indicate that the legal issue with the City has been resolved, and approval is forthcoming. I'm thinking that that this will be the second big project to break ground this year after Hanover on Brazos.
