I agree. I caught this from the article:
"The annex would be built so that that a pair of towers for residential and/or office use could be built on top in the future."
I would guess that would be in the future depending on the market etc. 100 N Main and the Loew's are both great proposals.. if it saves 100 N Main from sitting blighted this may make more sense. Would love to see both in a perfect world but interested to see how it plays out.
Also, with all these office tower proposals I'm curious what will end up being built. I'm betting on the Clipper being the most likely and the fastest. I would guess followed by One Beale and Union Row I think have a shot depending on who they could line up for tenants.
