It's wrong to suggest it will happen if the stadium is built but it's perfectly fair and acceptable to point out that this is the type of event that is impractical to host without the stadium.

Obviously there are no guarantees. But Leblanc is not the only one talking about this. I listened to Gord Stellick on NHL Network Radio last week expound at some length about how successful a match between the Penguins (Crosby) and Avalanche (MacKinnon) would be in a new Halifax stadium. That, of course, assumes that a stadium is built and open before both players are in their dotage.

That's consistent for a major junior team that can only hold onto players for 4 years. I'm fairly sure an extra 3 or 4 thousand people would drive in from NB, PEI and the rest of NS to watch some professional hockey.
