Wynn New 46 Story Tower and Bumper Cars

https://www.reviewjournal.com/busine...s-vegas-strip/

"We have decided to take the theme of Carnivale and turn it on its edge"

"lagoon will be a carousel jutting onto the water and a bumper-car experience"

"“There will be 10-12 floats in an audio-visual parade ... huge spiders with spider webs, and King Kong and the devil and these things are 25 to 30 feet tall and they’re animated.”

I can't wait to see the renderings. In an earlier interview he talked about mountains islands in the lagoon and a Hawaiian theme to the whole thing. I'm not sure how well this will do, but am very excited to see some new innovation coming to the Strip. I like that Wynn is taking some risks with new attractions and fresh ideas.

^^^ So he's pretty much stealing the Rios original way of doing things ? The Rio screwed up when they got rid of the parade and beads. But is this Wynns way of saying that his resort will have a theme ? Sounds like he might, just to compete with Resort world coming up. But. Does this Wynn currently have a theme ? I never got "Carnivale", I always got an old, watered down, Victorian theme. Would be great if he went the Theme route. Meanwhile MGM rips most of its hotels from its theme. Sad.

^^^ Not sure how much of a RIO rip-off it is, I think he is going more for the Disney parade of lights. To be fair, the riding of floats was most likely inspired by RIO. I also agree RIO killing it's parade seems like a big mistake. The casino has been dead for some time. I don't know if it was dying before they took it out, or removing the parade caused the down turn. I suspect the latter, since I no longer take people there when they visit for that very reason.

He has compared it to Disney several times. He has used the phrase "theme park", and said it's meant to be family friendly, so I'm expecting a Disney-like park. I linked to the mention of Hawaii below. I'm not sure if it's Hawaiian theme or the lagoon is just turquoise like the shores of Hawaii. I can't really imagine a Carnivale/Hawaii mashup in my head. I'm not sure if the hotel will be themed to the park. I suspect it will just match the other two hotel towers. If the hotel is truly geared towards families it may try to pull off a soft transition from the other towers. It will be fun to see what comes of it.

https://www.reviewjournal.com/busine...park-on-strip/

“These islands in the turquoise lagoon will be like Hawaii, with tall peaks and white sand beaches,”

On a side note, when I think Carnival, I think Rollercoasters and Darkrides.
??? ...

^^^Awesome. If done well....this might actually work. I just want to know what is his mater plan. I've never equated The Wynn = Family friendly. I always thought it was for a middle aged/older crowd who wanted the relaxation/luxury element of the strip without the partying 20-30 year olds, I mean he had a golf course haha if that didn't scream retirees, I don't know what will.

But, if this is done right and the new tower caters to families only, and he has a few rides and attraction here and there, I wonder if Circus Circus, which has been THEE family resort for decades, will feel pressure to do something. As of right now, Circus Circus, in my opinion, needs to be torn down and completely rebuilt ( The Adventure dome can stay). Maybe have the towers match the Adventure Dome with that purple ish color. IDK. But this plan might be a quick jab at Resort World and Circus Circus.

^^^ I couldn't agree more with anything you wrote. Especially with Circus, Circus - being one of the most visited amusement parks in the US - it needs a major rehaul. MGM being the copy-cats they are, may try to follow Wynn's lead.

On your main point, Paradise Park could be great for Las Vegas, if done right. If the park park is build in a mature way, with adults in mind, it could attract a whole new audience to Las Vegas. Think Animal Kingdom. I know there is a large segment of adults who are not that into Gambling or Clubbing (myself included) that Las Vegas is not catering enough too. I went to Universal Florida recently and there we're more adults than kids there. I think this is a growing market. Adults today have different interests than those 50 year ago. I think the demand for fully immersive environments is just going to rise. I know the Harry Potter areas are making boatloads of cash. Someone should seriously being thinking about Harry Potter Las Vegas. - come on Vegas- don't you want my money

I think MGM blew it with their park, by making it on the cheap, and imitating better parks not that far away. The park also felt like an amenity to the hotel, like a pool, rather than it's own destination.

I don't think Wynn will make the same mistakes. I can't see Wynn doing anything on the cheap. Theme parks, in general, have also improved a lot since then understanding not to cater purely to kids and teens. I'm sure he is not going to gear it for toddlers, and it sounds like he knows the Park is the destination, not the hotel/casino. I think the only way he could blow it, is if it's an unappealing theme, or it's too weird. Wynn sometimes does some odd stuff. I'm sure he's consulting experts on this, so I'm expecting something Great. We shall see.

^^^ Right on. I totally agree

Here's to hoping he does it right. A Carnivale themed theme park/resort sounds like he may be catering to both, Families but also those of drinking age. Maybe he'll have certain times families can come in like the early morning, but then turn it into an adults only destination after a certain time. That, I think, would be fair to be able to cater to both demographics.

Resorts World Exclusive: First of Five Construction Cranes Being Installed

Quote:
Well, folks, it looks like there is more than just smoke and mirrors at the Resorts World construction site. Our eye-in-the-sky, Sean at Sky Las Vegas, was able to capture this photo of crews beginning to assemble the first of five cranes at the now lively construction site. The bases for the cranes were installed over the past few months while crews simultaneously dismantled steel portions of the Echelon Place skeleton.

Are all these casinos charging for parking. What a turn off to gamble at a place that wants your money even before you get out of your car

I don't recall the casinos I generally go to (Wynn, Encore, Aria) charging for parking, but then again, I usually don't drive to LV.

Most of MGM Resorts/Casinos on the strip make you pay for parking and so does Ceasars Resorts/Casnos.

Ironically, the 2 nicest hotel resorts on the strip do not make you pay for parking. That being the Venetian/Palazzo duo and the Wynns/encore duo. But the Wynn does charge for Valet, $14-$20 depending on time and events.

Treasure Island is still free

The Tropicana is also free

and the Stratosphere is still free, for obvious reasons haha.

So for all those trying to avoid the parking fee and dont mind walking, take your pick from the list above.

Mandalay charges, but it's only $15/night with unlimited in and out privileges -- good deal.

Wynn/Encore have been charging for a couple of months now.

http://www.wynnlasvegas.com/AboutUs/Parking

The only hotels on the strip proper that I know of not charging are Venetian/Palazzo, SLS, Stratosphere & Planet Hollywood (Garage operated by Miller Capital and CalPERS, owners of Miracle Mile Shops).

^^^ True. But I feel trying to get to pearl and gold might be easy for those who are in Vegas constantly and gambling constantly.

Wow that was a quick change. I was there back in July I believe and it was still free. The parking fees have even started popping up downtown which is ridiculous.

I'm pretty sure the TopGolf parking lot (behind MGM) is free.

Agreed. That seems pretty ridiculous, but only because it is Vegas. Pretty much every other hotel in any other city charges something for parking. Just hurts knowing that’s even more money I’m going to lose
