^^^ I couldn't agree more with anything you wrote. Especially with Circus, Circus - being one of the most visited amusement parks in the US - it needs a major rehaul. MGM being the copy-cats they are, may try to follow Wynn's lead.
On your main point, Paradise Park could be great for Las Vegas, if done right. If the park park is build in a mature way, with adults in mind, it could attract a whole new audience to Las Vegas. Think Animal Kingdom. I know there is a large segment of adults who are not that into Gambling or Clubbing (myself included) that Las Vegas is not catering enough too. I went to Universal Florida recently and there we're more adults than kids there. I think this is a growing market. Adults today have different interests than those 50 year ago. I think the demand for fully immersive environments is just going to rise. I know the Harry Potter areas are making boatloads of cash. Someone should seriously being thinking about Harry Potter Las Vegas. - come on Vegas- don't you want my money
I think MGM blew it with their park, by making it on the cheap, and imitating better parks not that far away. The park also felt like an amenity to the hotel, like a pool, rather than it's own destination.
I don't think Wynn will make the same mistakes. I can't see Wynn doing anything on the cheap. Theme parks, in general, have also improved a lot since then understanding not to cater purely to kids and teens. I'm sure he is not going to gear it for toddlers, and it sounds like he knows the Park is the destination, not the hotel/casino. I think the only way he could blow it, is if it's an unappealing theme, or it's too weird. Wynn sometimes does some odd stuff. I'm sure he's consulting experts on this, so I'm expecting something Great. We shall see.
