Some progress on the South Park Lofts project. The second building, the one on 1469-73 South Park, is now demolished. I hope this means construction will soon start. Has any of the construction industry people on here heard anything of the developer's time frame? This project looks to be a 12-story apartment building on the South Park side and 4-stories on Brenton with 3 levels of underground parking.

I assumed that little brick apartment building on the corner and the building next to it that housed the restaurants were also coming down? They are still standing according to this pic.

I'm pretty sure they are. Maybe the developer figures they can get a couple more months of rent from them while they excavate the rear of the lot. Plus I wouldn't be surprised if the apartment had students with leases that go to May or September.

The brick apartment building is empty I think. It's two developments on this block though, isn't it? Do both start at the same time?

Fares is behind Brenton Place, which will occupy the other end of this block where the brick building is still standing. I'm sure there's a good chance of overlap of the two being built. Feeling pretty bad for the owners of $500K+ condos in the Trillium about to be sandwiched in, but what can do you do.

Excavation is well underway. I drove by this afternoon and at a glance it looked like the South Park side was dug down the height of the excavators.

Construction permit has been issued for this site. Look like foundation work has begun;
