Sad to see restaurants close in the east end as there are actually not that many places to eat outside of fast food. The Torbay area only has Mary Browns, Torbay Coffee House (not open for dinner) and a few pizza spots. The fish and chip truck by the airport is a good add. We went to the Stavanger Montanas a lot and were sad to see it go (its been known its closed for awhile now).

There's a steel frame up at this site now, let's hope that's the case.

Yes, the frame went up in 2 days. Whatever this building is, it will be opened before Christmas for sure.

The Blackmarsh Rd location is staying open. The building looks like it sold and I can't help but wonder who bought it.

There's a new Pakistani restaurant opening in the former Soul Azteca location on Freshwater. Indus Eatery - https://www.facebook.com/induseatery

The Shoppes at Galway website now lists this new building as Spiritleaf. This is another weed store which was previously announced. I had assumed it would be taking up space in one of the already built strips.

Well... so much for Five Guys - in that location at least.
Disappointing...

There seems to be site preparation/footings started for a second building next door to the Spiritleaf building. As for it being Five Guys, I give up. Unless I see the actual red and white sign lol.

LOL... I wholeheartedly agree. It's nice to get excited about the prospects of a Five Guys location whenever a new building is being constructed - especially given 2020 has been a less than stellar year. However, I can't help but reserve my judgement (and excitement) until the sign goes on the building.

Yeah I'm with you guys on that.

It's possible it could go in the new section of the mall.

Not in that area very often but apparently there’s a new Starbucks opened in CBS across the street from McDonalds. Sorry I don’t have a pic.

There's a cul-de-sac that runs between Tim's and the new Starbucks in CBS....appropriately named Coffee Creek Place. lol

I see a new sandwich shop opening in Galway. Dagwoods. It’s a Montreal based sub shop.

Where did you see this? Just drove by this and all it says is For Lease, no indication of anything planned to go there.

The foundation is complete. I'm sure a frame will go up soon. I heard it was going to be Tiny's restaurant.

The council minutes show a permit was approved for the construction of a restaurant/bar at that address.

Oh my. For their sake, I hope they serve better food than location by Dairy Queen on Topsail Road ! Terrible food -- ridiculous prices.

The Rock Steakhouse Bar and Grill is getting closer to opening. It’s located at the airport, next door to Holiday Inn Express. It’s entrance is actually same entrance as the hotel on Navigator Avenue as the restaurant building is owned by the same owners as the hotel. I heard that the opening I might be somewhere around the end of October. In the meantime, they have posted their menu on their website. Here is the link.
