The Hammer is a maddddd dynamic city. Love it!

I was in the car and was going to Oakville the other night with my family and discovered the best skyline shot ever. Hwy 6 heading downhill to the 403 at night...it was beautiful. You gotta get on that. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me.

There are TONS of great-but-diffifult-to-reach places for amazing skyline views:
- Valley Inn Rd in Aldershot near the RBG
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...&t=h&z=16&om=1
-Syndenham Rd in Dundas
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...&t=h&z=17&om=1
(if you look closer to the bottom of the road b4 it goes down the escarpment & zoom in, you'll actually see a rest area where people stop and admire the skyline all the time)

Flar. Thanks for making my (our) city so damn beautiful!!

^^Yes, that's from the Incredible Hulk set, I was waiting for someone to catch that.

@Cambridgite: I love the view from Hwy 6, I'm going to go up there for pics someday but it's difficult because there's no pedestrian access on that highway and it's really busy.

@DC83: Thanks for the info on that Aldershot location, I'll check that out someday too. These ones are from Sydenham Rd early in the morning:

Great stuff! Love the person walking with the cane, shot from above, and anytime a city can double as N.Y. that's gotta say something...

Flar, we always bug you about publishing your work in some sort of book.

But you know what? I was shopping other day, and noticed every other city in Ontario has their own Calendar. Why not take your work and publish it in Calendar-form?
I know I (and every other Hamilton forumer) would buy it and proudly display it. Myself, I'd have one at home AND one at work!!

Well maybe not quite, but still pretty amazing from an urban enthusiast's perspective

@the rest of you: thanks for the kind words

@DC83: I actually thought of the calendar idea last week--I even know a guy with a printing business that does calendars--but it's too close to 2008 for any commercial venture. I'm going to try for a 2009 calendar. Black's or Shoppers Drug Mart can make individual calendars though so if you (or anyone else) wants one for 2008 let me know.
