I made a revised drawing of The One, based on the latest renders. Even though its still very tall, it now looks stunted somehow.

This one was approved in December 2016! So good news for Toronto despite Councilor Kristyn Wong-Tam trying to bring the project to a stop or to scale down the Hight as usual.
It went to OMB and got approved.
Please check the link below:

http://www.metronews.ca/news/toronto...-approval.html

So we finally we have our first Supertall building in Toronto!!!!
I only hope OMB Board to approve more projects like this for our beautiful city and not to let people like K.Wong-Tam to ruin other supertall projects.!

Well that's good. Can't help but notice that there 3 supertalls proposed in Toronto, as well as dozens over 500 feet, but yet not very much forum activity.

This has not been approved yet. There was a prehearing meeting in November then again in January, with the full hearing scheduled on April 18th, 2017. The appeals are also not about height, but issues with laneway access to the parking garage. Nobody has an issue with the proposed height of the building.

The confusion from the development being approved is that the developer settled with the city to receive their approval, but several neighborhood associations and adjacent landowners continue their appeal.

Also, Toronto has a large local website for development, so not much activity happens on SSP.

It's far too early to change the status of The One. Digging has only just begun. Wait till a crane is up, then the status will change to U/C...

Hmm.....

Some local media (CP24) mentioned that today The One officially began construction.....seemingly a groundbreaking ceremony.

Globe and Mail, released an article talking about the architect and differing things about this tower...

Shouldn't this be moved to supertall construction now?

I think normally it would be, after an announcement like that, but forum rules say otherwise...
