Yea for sure...would of broke up that wall of 550 ft plus buildings... I find it funny that developers who fail to secure financing for buildings either because of inexperience or other factors tend to have the more exciting building designs.

This building is looking great and filling such a big hole in skyline in river north...its kinda incredible the impact once you break above the 600 ft height plateu in that section of river north how much it sticks out... Hopefully river north can become the new location were height of 700ft plus is welcomed and not downsized by alderman like other parts of the city... On a side note it looks like the smaller tower core should be approaching its topping out?

Imagine the impact 'North Union' on the Moody Bible land will make. Up to 630' and being done by the same developer.

The taller tower is great, but the shorter tower resembles all those blue boxes that the city has been building lately, in fact it looks almost like 110 N Wacker's twin.

^Yes. Context matters.

WPE and 110N (and soon 320S Canal) work well by themselves because their blue facades pair well with their beige (limestone) neighbors (light blue + light brown).

The problem with Wolf Point is we have WPE (blue) next to WPS (blue) next to WPW (green) next to RP (blue) next to 150 Riverside (blue) across from 110N (blue).

Had some of these towers been spread throughout the city in different locations, I wonder if there would still be as much discussion about blue glass towers.

It is indeed better than beige concrete, but there are still better options that could have been implemented.

Spread out or clustered, blue glass looks too sterile to me. And blue is my favorite color. Would have been cool to see them try a different color with the glass. Or add some non blue accents to the building. Something. The height and massing make this an interesting building. The facade and lack of details make it boring as hell.

I always thought originally one Chicago would of had more of a grey smokey glass type vibe with the silver spandrel playing a bigger role...now it seems to be more of our typical blue glass predominantly. Guess this is what value engineering is all about?

yeah and the metal just looked darker... seems like only the later renderings appear to include the blue glass + (thinner?) champagne-colored spandrel :/

The taller tower crane is clearly visible driving up from the south on Lake Shore Drive. It's wonderful how much an impact One Chicago and BMO will have on the skyline, especially from the south.
