So if I didn't miss something... from that last rendering there will be no 1100 foot skyscraper as it's been replaced by a 5 or 600 foot hotel.

Shocker

No lol... The supertall in in phase 2. Phase 2 starts in 2016. One Brickell CityCentre (Supertall), is expected to be finished in 2018.

Although I do not agree with the thread title. It really should reflect the overall project. This is in a sense like Paraiso Bay, Portside Miami, and World Centre, this is a mega development.

Its a couple of posts above this one where it states that. I try to limit the amount of reading material and get right to the point.

See post #38.

Yes I could imagine. Some woman out there might have the looks, but brains, are missing. All I gotta say is run!

Anyways, here are some updates on Brickell CityCentre. I hate to be repetitive, but this is a mega development. The supertall is in phase 2. The thread title should reflect the project. It wouldn't make sense making another thread for it when we have a good one here.

This is for the hotel portion:

Swire about to buy more land for City Centre

Quote:
Swire Properties is on the verge of picking up another 22,000 square feet for its Brickell City Centre development.

Miami commissioners are expected to vote next week on a resolution authorizing Swire’s purchase of two parcels at 602 and 614 South Miami Avenue. The city plans to spend about $4.9 million to acquire the properties from a state agency. Swire would kick in nearly $4.2 million for that investment, with the rest of the purchase price covered by $700,000 in street easement fees provided by the developer.

Once the city completes its purchase, it would immediately sell the properties to Swire for $4 million, according to exMiami. One of the parcels is home to an office of Florida’s Department of Juvenile Justice.
Swire intends to use the properties to “enhance the public right of way” around City Centre.

Rubbish.

I wonder if they would be fine with a 1000 ft height. FAA is really annoying. Does that height really interfere with flight routes? More headaches and delays for quality developments.

The FAA are such losers who need to go do something productive yeesh.

1040' would be fine with me though... anything over 300 meters would be great for Miami.

Well at least Skyrise was approved by the voters. Not terribly bad news today.

Planes don't really fly right over downtown Miami or Brickell district. The flight paths usually take planes either north of the CBD or south of the Brickell Financial district with the tallest building on the southern end of Brickell Avenue being the Four Seasons tower @ 789 ft. | 240 m.

I really don't understand how the FAA thinks an extra 30 feet higher from 1,010 ft. to 1,040 feet is a safety hazard for airplanes!
MIA sits about 5 miles northwest of the CBD/Brickell area so if something goes wrong what difference does it make if a building is over 1,000 feet tall or 100 feet tall?

New Site is up: http://residencesbrickellcitycentre.com/index.php

Features: Gallery, info on residences, floor plans, amenities, renderings, and much more.

Also as a reminder, this is a multi tower project. See page 2 for more info as a refresher.

This thread should be renamed:

Brickell CityCentre | 1,102 FT + (520 FT X 2) + 516 FT | FLOORS

To avoid confusion with the other thread which is One Brickell, the height information would distinguish the two.

The supertall portion is part of a phase for this project. The smaller towers are part of the complex. It is this complex that the thread title should resemble. Also, the floor count isn't really known. The supertall portion could be 80 floors, but the floors of the other towers are tentative. The height though is backed up by diagrams in page 2.

Notice the supertall slot.

Apologies for bumping this. I posted some recent information pertaining to a different project by accident. All of the names for a lot of Miami developments all sound the same and use "Brickell", "Ocean Drive" or "one" in the name.

Update: SWIRE prepares for demolition of Eastern Nat'l. Bank building

Eastern National Bank Moving Out, Building Will Be Demolished For One Brickell City Centre
By TNM Staff on February 9, 2015

An office building slated for demolition to make way for One Brickell City Centre is being vacated by Eastern National Bank, which formerly owned the building.

The bank signed a lease to move their headquarters to Dadeland from Brickell Avenue, according to a press release (via TRD).

They have been operating on a lease from Swire Properties. The bank sold their 197,611-square-foot Brickell headquarters to Swire in 2011 for just $13.1 million in 2011. The property, which includes 50,172-square-feet of land, is now worth multiples of that price.

Swire intends to demolish the office building to build the mixed-use 1,049-foot tall One Brickell City Centre. The developer recently topped off several other building withing the Brickell City Centre complex.

^ Site includes Eastern Nat'l. bank & the now demolished brick building that fronted Brickell Ave.
