MONTREAL | National Film Board of Canada HQ (Îlot Balmoral) | 16 FLOORS

MONTREAL | National Film Board of Canada HQ (Îlot Balmoral) | 16 FLOORS

This will be the new home of the National Film Board of Canada in the Quartier des spectacles in downtown Montreal. Architects: Provencher Roy. The opening in 2017 will coincide with Montreal's 375th birthday.

I like it! Proof that a building doesn't need to be tall to be well designed.

Floors of Crystalline Montreal Office Tower Begin Taking Shape
Quote:
A collaboration between the Government of Canada, Société d’habitation et de développement de Montréal (SHDM), and the City of Montreal, an unconventional new office building has begun its ascent in the city's entertainment district, Quartier des Spectacles. The revered National Film Board will be among the major tenants of Îlot Balmoral, reserving six of the 13 floors in the building.

A truly imposing building. From street level it borders on the overwhelming.

Love it.
