Were you dropped on your head as a baby? Or is there some other reason you’re such an asshole?

Yes. I mixed up Race and Vine and hadn't heard of this project. Thanks for not being a douche about it.

Honestly, though. Why are you so combative? Is there something bothering you we should know about?

I'm combative? I'm not the one using words like "asshole" and "douche" Maybe you're just over sensitive.

He fills the gaping void left in our hearts by 1487’s untimely demise.

Speaking of former posters - I feel bad that once we outed McBane for apparently never actually stepping foot in Center City despite being very opinionated about it - he hasn’t posted since.

Also, did CroBurnham die? Anyone know?

Boy, I hope not but he did disappear from Phillyspeaks at the same time. I think it coincided with the last presidential election - maybe he decided to focus his energy on other things. I thought he was an excellent contributor BTW.

Let's go with that story. He's living his best self out on Walden Pond. No electricity, just an old rocking chair to mark the time.

Employment is booming in Greater Philadelphia.

The region has posted the largest job growth for the month of June out of the country’s metropolitan areas, writes Shelley Ng for Fox Business.

According to Glassdoor’s Job Market Report Opens a New Window, Philadelphia saw a year-over-year job growth of 6.3 percent. That is significantly above national average of 1.4 percent.

This is awesome, and helps explain why the region's housing market has been on fire for years on end. I stand firm in the my belief that Philly is not only the future of gene therapy and 'new' biopharma, but it is also a cheaper (for now) alternative east coast technology hub with equal talent to our similarly sized peers. We never needed Amazon, they would have simply been a nice to have.

Lol, fair play but I still think that we aren’t recognized as much as we should be. No, we don’t have a huge Silicon Valley presence but we have a handful of satellite offices in KOP (mostly centered around life sciences and fin tech), and we can’t forget our evil Comcast overlords and their technology incubator. Give it 10 years and if we aren’t at least mentioned in the same sentence as NYC, Boston and DC, the first beer is on me.

The City's tax revenues are booming too: http://www.picapa.org/wp-content/upl...ne19-FINAL.pdf
June wage tax collections up over 10% from last June, and business tax collections up over 13%. Crazily enough, business tax collections are up almost 22% YTD compared to the prior year.

good economy and annual job growth, no surprise there. It's been years since the city lost jobs in a calendar year.
