That part of Dallas County actually is pretty hilly. That's looking Southwest... Fort Worth would be due West and they have some hilly sections too.

Does anyone have any info on the high rise that’s going up next to the Virgin Hotel in the Design District? I can’t seem to find anything on it.

No. Because Dallas is not the center of the "largest metro in Texas." Dallas is the center of 2/3 of that metro. You can't just ignore Fort Worth and then wonder why Houston seems bigger than Dallas. Houston IS bigger than Dallas. How much bigger? By about a Fort Worth's worth.

For selfish reasons, I'm sort of sad hearing about the development here. While I love seeing new towers popping up all over, this (and actually the Virgin that came before) have altered one of the best views of the downtown & uptown skylines imo. I stayed at the Doubletree on Market Center Blvd a few years back and was blown away by that perspective. It is an older hotel (and even then it looked like it had just been updated), but I definitely chose it based on the view & price at that point. Great view from the balconies on the 11th floor.

Oh well, can get the existing skyline with the newer closer tower going up. Will be back there in about a month and am still looking for a place to stay. May book there again. We'll see.

Texas A&M will build an expanded law school, urban campus, research center in Downtown Fort Worth. Looks like two new 10-story towers replacing three blocks of surface parking. Across the street from the Trinity Metro central station(two commuter rail lines and major bus hub).

Additionally, 969 Deco, 27 story apartment tower also in DT FW:

Does anyone know what's up with the Dallas Metropolis forum? It's been offline for about two months.

It won't load on mobile, at least iOS, from what I can tell.

I am on a PC and using firefox and it works. However there are very few new posts as it seems nobody can reach it.

Also the custom theme broke and its reverted to the default phpbb look and feel.

It’s now on an app called Discord. The online Metropolis site, I believe it’s defunct.

Dallasmetropolis still works. It looks like they just transitioned to different forum software but it's still online. There is also a DM.com Discord but I haven't been there yet (I'm having Discord login issues).

I literally joined this forum simply because I can't access Dallas Metropolis on any computer or browser. Work PC computer, home iMac, iPhone...you name it. If anyone has any more details, I'm all ears. Please just message me.

If it's a cost issue, I'm happy to donate some money towards the forum. Someone just please let me know what's going on.

I still cannot access it on a phone or on a PC using Edge, Chrome or Firefox. I'll just check SSP for Dallas updates. Fort Worth has a pretty decent forum of their own as well.

For the folks who can't access DM.com, here's some fun eye candy for a new development on Ross Ave, which is on a portion of what might have been the Spire development. The office portion is so so but I like the residential.

The article on DMN: https://www.dallasnews.com/business/...dallas-towers/

It sounds like they are eager to get started on the site. I'd like to see a hotel incorporated into the site as well, but doesn't sound like there are any current plans to do that.
It will be interesting to see what happens with the nearby lot that was slotted for the Hall office building if this this does get built. Maybe Hall will go a different direction with that lot.
