My understanding is the yearly numbers are based on extrapolated data based on W2 information.

So for example, it wouldn't include:
People without jobs who live in the city (ex: students who don't work)
People who live in the city but for some reason don't have a city address on their W2
People who work under the table
Etc.

There are lots of sub-categories of people who are basically invisible to this IRS data. Or who look one way in the data, but act another way.
That's a crappy way because it seems like a snapshot in time (i.e., when the records are cross-checked at a point in time) from the W-2 as people quit/get hire on a continuum. And, yep...all the shortcoming you pointed out too.

jawn, thanks for these pics. the massing of this building is right on for the area and is very sensitive to not overwhelming the divine loraine. this certainly isn’t a beauty but it is a big boost to the neighborhood. hopefully ridge ave between this and callowhill continues to be activated, as it is still a pretty major dead zone on foot.

This one sort of looks like a hospital built during the modernist era.

love the look of this: A hulking structure that gives a dense city vibe; i think this is better than a tall structure if i was meant for here.

Wow such a transformation! And to think just 6 years ago some high school friends and I would sneak into the abandoned Divine and watch the sunset behind the sign. I know it is a tough time for everyone right now but who knows the possibilities in the next 6 years!

Well, I don't have a recent photo but the Aldi sign is up. That facade is basically done. That was very strategic of that cheesesteak shop to position itself there. I know it's been a long time waiting but Jimmy G's investment will soon pay off in spades.

This photo is over a month old - but it shows off how big this project is for the area (and the Eraserhood mural, the IG post states the mural was painted over two days ago, not sure why!!!).

The tower actually looks pretty good but wow that gladding is terrible on the Aldi. This is still a huge win for this area. It's crazy how far it has come in even 5 years with Divine Lorraine, Canno's awesome building on Ridge nearby and a bunch of other smaller projects around the area of Ridge and Mt. Vernon.

There's a few row homes going up around 632 North 13th as well. They demolished a cool handsome building which is a bummer. I hope this isn't their final state because they are fitting a cool triangle lot very poorly.

Anyone know what's happening at 24th and Sansom? Pretty decent size chunk of buildings just got demo'd across from the Mandeville lot.

I can't find the article, but 10 or so fancy mega townhomes. OCF is the developer. I remember them looking nice from the rendering.
