Likely with some articulating crane on the roof to carry a swinging stage. That is pretty much necessary should any glass ever need to be replaced since you can’t really do it from the interior.

Much smaller site, and Block 185 is on office floors instead of parking floors.

Congress has historical landmark status. South 1st was upgraded back in the 90s i guess if I remember correctly.

Also activity began at 6 X Guad about 9 months after Block 185. The hotel at 6 X Guad had to be demolished while the structure that once existed at Block 185 was cleared sometime between May 2009-March 2011.

I think some sort of cool LED lighting would be nice, that change color. I'm not sure what kind of aesthetic enhancements could be made that would be given any sort of funding over all the other issues we're dealing with here, for example, transportation, convention center expansion, homelessness. But if any money could be allocated to improve any of the bridges crossing the river, I'd say throw it at the train bridge. I know a lot of people think its an iconic pallet for graffiti, but its an eyesore imo. At least replace the solid rusty metal walls with a railing with aluminum vertical bars or even the fencing material used on the Independent. As far as all the other bridges go, they are less intrusive visually the way they are, and don't interfere with the natural surroundings, so the focus remains on the river and the trees. In this case, perhaps less is more.

Congress bridge won't be changed. Historical and bats.

Lamar and South First could use something. LEDs like Genral mentioned.

Maybe the I35 bridge could be replaced someday and we'll have a chance for something interesting there.

I'm too lazy this morning to look up the exact numbers, but the two sites are not that different in size. Block 185 is a full block with one edge chamfered by the creek - a little under 3/4 of a block. 6x is a full block minus the lot for the historic house - a little over 3/4 of a block.

Congress and Lamar have/had lights on them now, just really decrepit looking outdoor patio string lights that are half falling down on both Congress and Lamar bridges, and obviously aren't lit up.
Look underneath both bridges next time you're in the area.

I honestly don't get it. It's been that way for quite a while now.
