That was what I was going to ask: who is leasing the office space? The link says an Oil company is the client, but they may just be developing it. Interested to see how it plays out.

That cantilevered tabletop thingy seems to be the new San Antonio standard.

The previous plan did a great job at limiting/hiding mass parking. I've never seen the suburban area have a proposed project that good at that.

It looks like the new plan has single stand alone restaurants/retail with mass parking lots and stand alone garages, unfortunately. Hopefully some retail is incorporated in those parking structures, but I won't hold my breath for the Rim/Dominion area on that.

Not sure if this is the correct thread for the Embrey development near Lincoln Heights, but does anyone know what's going on with that one?

Their progress slowed way down a couple months ago. the front section sat at just two stories poured for months. If anyone is in the know, I'd be curious to know what the hiccups have been. I don't think it would be a money issue. FAA permits for those tower cranes are only good till March of 2021, although I'm sure it isnt too difficult to extend.

Either they had some engineering issues or maybe a redesign..or both?

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but it looks like on top of Velvet Taco and Kung Fu Saloon coming to SA... a North Italia is U/C at a spot next to Southerleigh at the Rim. I guess the hip, out of town spots are seeing the potential of the market here.

If a developer built a Rock Rose or old town Scottsdale style bar district in Stone Oak or the Rim it would do super well. My age demo is hungry for it lol.

UT Health San Antonio Breaks Ground On New Hospital

Quote:
TPR March 29, 2021

UT Health San Antonio has broken ground in a "virtual" ceremony on a new $430 million hospital that will specialize in researching and treating diseases that disproportionately impact South Texans.

The UT Health San Antonio Multispecialty and Research Hospital will offer specialty care in cancer, orthopedics, urology, and thoracic and bariatric surgery. It will also be the site of early phase clinical trials, including immunologic and stem cell therapies for cancer.

UT Health San Antonio President Dr. William Henrich said Monday's groundbreaking was a seminal moment for patients, the city, the region and the state.

Microsoft Corp. plans to build an additional data facility on the Far West Side, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

The Redmond, Washington-based tech giant will begin construction of the 79,385-square-foot facility at the 15000 block of Lambda Drive at Texas Research Park on May 1, with completion expected by Feb. 28, 2022, the TDLR document shows.

The construction project, referred to as SAT46, is estimated to cost $140 million. Phillips Architecture of Raleigh, North Carolina, is listed as the design firm.

The City of San Antonio, along with project partners, will be collecting public input regarding the Bandera Corridor Plan for the next several weeks.
