^ Nothing like a little rebar for your concrete! Of course, these piers will be supporting 30-plus stories.

These updates are gonna be kinda boring until they're finished with the caissons and can put some steel on 'em.

BTW, usually when you dig caissons (or drill piles) you go down to bedrock to assure solid structural footing. Does anybody know how far down they've got to go by the river here?

These new renderings look WAAY better than the early ones. This could be nice.

The top two renderings reveal how much that garage could really use some appropriate cladding, although there doesn't appear to be any anticipated (at least based on the renderings).

seconded. Would love either something green or maybe some banner announcing U City But even some form of cladding would be nice this will be highly visible

Otherwise, it looks like a giant parking garage with a kinda neat looking little tower attached at one end. Of course, the addition of the much larger Walnut St. tower will signficantly alter the relative proportions, but still, it needs to be clad to avoid being an eyesore in that setting, IMHO. Perhaps they're waiting until the Walnut tower phase to add cladding (hopefully).

I wouldn't hold your breath for cladding, and I've seen far uglier garages. I don't think this one is too bad.

I still think, as I said in an earlier post somewhere, that it looks like it was designed and built to receive some sort of cladding--note the raised "rails" between floors. And it would make sense that they'd want to have a final design of the Walnut tower in hand before designing or finalizing the garage cladding.

It's just too prominent of a location, and will be too large of a garage with the planned additional stories, to remain with the open, exposed garage decks it currently has. There certainly are other examples of recently built garages in the city that have some sort of screening or cladding to hide the open garage decks.
