This past weekend saw a caravan of cement trucks that lasted hours upon hours, choking traffic on Wilson St. The big pour was on!

153 Wilson West mid January by Pulkvedis Pods, on Flickr

Update: photo taken January 15. As you can see, Ancaster weighs many tons heavier with all the new concrete...

We hadn't seen a render of this, to my recollection. This is what I could find with a quick search:

Yes. You're right, and thanks for posting this. And it is worth mentioning that this is sold out - of course.
I think it is also worth mentioning that it appears as if there is a number of smaller condo projects proposed up and down Wilson St. between 153 Wilson W. and Rousseaux St.

And bring them! These are perfect density, IMO -- 4 to 6 floors, the occasional one a bit taller, seem a good fit for the area.

Agreed. Much as I have said that the village needs some livening up, then this stretch of Wilson if densified could stretch the village concept even further out. The area around Wilson/Fiddlers Green really needs a revamp! St. Ann's is ok, but the south side of the street leaves alot to be desired...

The large plazas (anchored by Fortinos and Food Basics) on the southwest end of the village are ripe for reasonably-sized intensification, and there are many smaller commercial properties northeast of there right into the centre of town that are quite appropriate for new mixed-use buildings, even just 2-3 floors would be a better use of land and less intrusive to the "character" that some worry about maintaining.

We're very used to having single family homes along many of our main streets, everywhere in the city. That's going to change whether people like it or not, the issue is how. There's a happy place between what developers and owners with aspirations will want and what current residents think is acceptable... we've yet to find it in many neighbourhoods.

Two lots across the street from each other to be developed into condos. 125 Wilson site has been excavated and there is rebar on the site too.

My god... it's a war zone already.
‘It’s going to cause a war,’ Ancaster councillor warns of area-rating elimination

125 has been brewing for a while... I wonder what the plan/design is now. It's covered in this thread:

Well Gunga galunga me! Didn't catch this one. So, yeah there has been recent excavation and like I mentioned there is a pile of rebar, just waiting to be rebarred!
The lot is triangular, the rear part of the lot siding back to the former rail bed. That is a lot which could pose an architect some design challenges and opportunities.

Time for a little update on this project. There has been alot of work done here without interruption. In this pic you can see the entrance to the underground parking behind the port-o-potties.

That must be one gargantuan parking garage. The lot is over an acre in size, so that shall accomodate how many cars??? Just joking, but this type of development (above grade) is much more in line to my liking as opposed the Belleville development two properties over. That is going to be a private lane in from Wilson lined with probably identical townhomes. Self-contained fakery IMO. Another one of this:

A crane in Ancaster!... It must be causing all kinds of panic, social upheaval, and general mayhem.

We had placed a formal objection with the Minister, well above the 3 storey limit!
