Nah, Woodstock is growing up fast. They'll need to move to somewhere like Americus lol.

Really happy that this area is getting a nice new grocery store and some more retail, but I'm disappointed by the lost potential. This could have been a big apartment block, with Publix anchoring the northern portion and then smaller retail, office or medical anchoring the southern portion. Something like that costco that will be built in Downtown LA or even the Sprouts on Piedmont.

How long will this Publix have to sit here before redevelopment one day? 30 years? Provided the area develops nicely and remains a prosperous neighborhood.

Love an additional grocery, but hate the site plan. Same for Reynoldstown. Should have web so much better and instead we have two incredibly suburban stores in the thick of the city.

I know I've said it before, but literally just pulling the storefront up to the sidewalk and placing the parking in the rear would have been a better plan. But designing a store like that was too much when they already have a Publix Suburban Design™ to copy/paste onto the site.

Big ole parking deck in the background there. Is that an announced project, or just background filler?

That's what they have planned for that block - a mix offices and retail. It's probably subject to change depending on demand.

Here is the retro-ish Publix

We are being Punk'd, right? There is NO WAY anyone thinks that's a good-looking building. Why is it so dark? Why is the entrance so cold? And are we seriously trying to design stuff to look like a 1980s mall? Really? It's one thing to build a grocery store with a huge parking lot, it's another to do so with an extremely ugly building.

Agreed. Looks like they converted a 1980s movie theatre to a Grocery Store.

I don't get it...was just at their new store at Sam's Crossing near Avondale Station, and this one looks like a prison in comparison.

Fuwah Chinese Restaurant

What's up with this corner. My dream is that someone develops this corner, rehabs this old building, and Guy Wong puts in a banger Chinese restaurant which he shall name, of course, Fuwah Chinese Restaurant! https://www.google.com/maps/@33.7367...8192?entry=ttu
