Has it seriously been four months since there was buzz on 4th & Brazos? Time really does fly.

Ok. Y’all.

Looks like we should have 10 +\- buildings delivered now to the end of 2021. (Over 30 stories). And another 3 delivered in 2022.

My question is, how many will start in 2021/2022 as the “next round” of buildings to break ground?

Follow up.....which projects do you feel will be next to start, and when?

My list of hopeful near future starts is dwindling based on a lack of site plan activity for the ones in process and a couple of expired site plans. At this moment, I only have confidence in three big projects moving forward in the near future based on permitting activity and the developers behind the projects:

1. The Linden
2. Hanover on Brazos
3. River Street Residences

My source says Linden is a "lock" to start anytime now.
Hanover has a great track record...probably good for that too.
Don't know much about RSR.

So we could get at least 5 new ones delivered in 2022. Not too shabby, all things considered.

RSR = Trammell Crow (High Street Residential)

Good list, ATX. All residential, which makes total sense.

I’ll be interested to see what starts to pop as we go through the winter. There are A LOT of significant projects floating around out there, and a good chance at least a couple will break through.

After ATX’s list I’d add 5C, Symphony Square, and BBVA to the second tier of things that might move for award (not necessarily break ground).

Symphony Square was high on my list of still good to go projects. But the site plan application expired a month ago, and there has been no permitting activity since then - at least what is publicly viewable.

Ha! You and your pointy things.
That was a big whiff on Chicago's part. Don't remember why it never happened. It's hard to get that giant hole in the ground out of your head though. Geeze.

Symphony Square is still alive - sitework is anticipated to start in February

I 100 percent agree. This would compliment 6X and give it really nice tall companion. We could have the possibility of a cluster of tall buildings in the center of downtown where its needed. Plus, it is a nice looking tower. Add in 5C and holy shit!

Agreed. BBVA would put Austin in another class when paired with 6X. 5C is the cherry on top.

It got canned after 2014 so no, it was something else. They even built the basement for it.
Thanks for putting together that list Echostatic!
So impressive. Let's hope the economy gets its legs back so we can get to building again!

Radio silence on a lot of these projects makes me pessimistic during COVID times.
