Apartments almost complete on the corner of Burnside and 60th

The buildings for Laurelhurst Distributing RV Repair. There was a large, blue warehouse-looking building here, so it's a noticeable change.

According to Portlandmaps.com this will be replaced with a 4 story apartment building with 78 units. However, there's a development notice posted on the lot across 57th St (the Jag Shop) which shows the apartments will be built there.

Am I misinterpreting this? What's the source of the discrepancy?

3000 Powell is coming along. 206 affordable units. Next to Hopworks. Tough to get good photos of this project because of its shape. It's a long building shaped like the letter 'H'.

When is Soho House opening in Portland?
Updated: May. 17, 2023, 9:29 p.m.|Published: May. 17, 2023, 2:54 p.m.
By Michael Russell | The Oregonian/OregonLive

Soho House, a London-based “private member’s club” and hotel with outposts across the globe, will open its first Pacific Northwest location in Portland this year, the company confirmed this month.

As first reported by The Oregonian, Chicago-based hotel developer Benjamin Weprin spent $15.65 million to purchase Southeast Portland’s 110-year-old Troy Laundry building in 2019, with plans to convert the historic Buckman neighborhood laundry into a private member’s club, complete with 40 rooms and a rooftop pool. The project also includes a six-story building, dubbed 1010 SE Ash, with underground parking, ground-level retail and around 130 residential units atop a former auto repair shop.

At the time, a Soho House rep feigned ignorance about the upcoming Portland location, but the connection was clear. As CEO of AJ Capital, Weprin — dubbed a “brotelier” by the New York Times – had previously helped open Chicago’s Soho House, and would go on to open the club’s Nashville location.

Portland is just the second West Coast city to host a Soho House, after Los Angeles (but before Seattle and San Francisco), a development that surprised many in the comments section of Soho House’s social media announcement earlier this month.

Portland Public Schools eyes a new site for hemmed-in Cleveland High School

Portland Public Schools is eyeing the sprawling Fred Meyer corporate headquarters just off Powell Boulevard in Southeast Portland as a potential future location for a next-generation Cleveland High School.

Fred Meyer is owned by Cincinnati-based Kroger, the nation’s largest supermarket chain, which is currently in negotiations to purchase its next-largest competitor, Boise-based Albertson’s. Kroger has declined to comment on its plans for the lightly-used Fred Meyer corporate offices site at 3800 SE 22nd Ave. or even to confirm that it is for sale.

“At this time, there are no plans to sell our Fred Meyer corporate offices,” said Tiffany Sanders, a spokesperson for the company.

But Jonathan Garcia, chief of staff to Portland schools superintendent Guadalupe Guerrero, told The Oregonian/OregonLive that the school district’s real estate team had been to visit the 28-acre site and said that the two parties were “in conversation.”
...continues at the Oregonian.
