I could be wrong about what's being built but am 100% certain I've seen a townhouse plan for the site because I remember commenting that it should be more dense. The issue was that the site was too small to accommodate any parking. It could be something else.

I remember you all that SAPs never expire so if it was approved anytime in the past 10 years the DRC doesn't have any authority to review it.

There's no building permit issued, just a zoning verification, so maybe it's just some stormwater project. Only time will tell.

Saw a pic and it looks like a display unit, potentially for the condos.

Some broader pictures for context might help; proximnity to traffic light, current state of 12th street and the block when the accounting firm used to be next to Steamhouse Lounge.

Any chance of a few more contiguous pictures next time out, please?

Also, is 12th street going to be widened when this West Peachtree Selig development is completed ? Perhaps re-plan/take over what was an hourly or daily self parking lot across the street?

Thanks for everyone's posts.
Stay safe out there, all

Townhouses

Geez, that's really disappointing if it really is townhouses. It seems like given the land prices in that area they'd take a huge bath developing townhouses.

I've seen recent plans for the Midtown Arts Walk that shows that parcel as a park / green space.

It's not townhouses; it's a temporary modular building. Looks construction or sales related.

It is Portman's proposal in response to Marta's RFP for the North Avenue Station.

The Spring Hill project looks better than the Anthem buildings, but this looks great, has some real height to it, and that MARTA entrance is sexy as hell. Mayhe they can pull of something as inviting whenever they develop over the PCC entrance next to the Ellis downtown.

I am assuming that the Portman proposal was selected considering that the RFP deadline was the end of January and this is now being officially presented to the city.

No doubt. There's no way it ends up as sexy as this. Midtown Union's bait & switch comes to mind. Hope we're wrong, though!

From the Business Chronicle article, Marta will vote to award the project to a developer on June 11. Marta did not say whether or not there are other proposals still under consideration.

Edit: Marta has now confirmed that they will be voting to award the development to Portman.

North Ave proposal

Christ, I'll say it again that this is a stunning building. Would be the best looking building in the city if built as proposed, in my opinion. Since this is Atlanta, of course I fear that what actually gets built will looking nothing like this but I can dream.
