I think there's a lot more glass, too? But I could be misinterpreting.

In today's paper where they make the public service announcements for the City of Halifax, it mentions that the meeting to discuss this project has been cancelled... ???

They pulled it to get more flexibility with the commercial/residential components of the lower floors. Let’s them adjust to market conditions when built. Probably won’t be a major delay.

Not sure, but it'll be interesting once this project + Richmond Yards + the RCMP site are all completed.

Is the first rendering a very early one? The tower looks like the MaryAnn 2.0.

*bump*

Still no news on this one? A couple years ago this was one of the more exciting proposals. Not so much now, but I'd still love to see it proceed.

This area is transforming. Hopefully this development starts up sometime soon.

IIRC there's a similar proposal a couple blocks away at Bayers and Oxford (former RCMP building)

That block was bought by the province for a new school so the plan developed by Canada Lands is not proceeding.

I am surprised that this one for Young & Windsor hasn't moved ahead as it was proposed back in 2015.

It is interesting in that this area now feels less out-there as a development site than it did back in 2015. Hopefully it'll be updated and made taller.

If the provincial government had an ounce of imagination, it’d combine its recent focus on housing with the school construction and combine a new school with a large-scale residential development. Instead, I’m sure we’ll see a single-storey suburban-style school building occupying way too much land.

I drove by this evening and there appeared to be some preparatory work beginning on this site.

I would expect the crane next door will be removed soon, perhaps it was preparing a work space for the mobile crane required for that? I suspect we won’t see this site active until the Quinpool site is topped out.
