Not sure if anyone noticed, but the first floor of undulating balcony forms appear to be in place. . .

Didn't realize you'd be able to see this that well from the Gehry thing. Great view.

It will be clearly visible, even with the BCBS expansion. Here's another picture from today. One of Trump Tower's cranes is barely visible on the left. Also note the top right piece of BCBS is missing.

^ Ooops. And thus, Jeanne's argument that they needed wavy projecting balconies to capture views of Millennium Park goes out the window...

Not really though, the people on the west face of the building would barely be able to see the park without balconies that stick out in an uneven manner so as not to block the views of the balconies behind them...

Also, don't forget that there will be another building between Aqua and BCBS that may further restrict Aqua's park views...

From the Sunday Sun-Times: "The developers are talking a trade with the city: Surrendering one of the development sites for the school, probably along Columbus Drive south of the Aqua. In exchange, the city would grant zoning authority for buildings a little taller than a current maximum of about 70 stories near Lake Shore Drive."

Nope.

Remember, as EarlyBuyer, the school will now possible be going on the land directly south of Aqua. When Jeanne and her team designed the building, they "assumed" the a tower would be going in that location.

Things have changed, which is a plus for the residents who bought in the building and for us as well, because now we'll also have better views of this up-and-coming maserpiece.

Guys, it was a joke. No need to freak out that someone is teasing the new heroine of Chicago architecture. But I do think the images of them holding strings out into the model are rather funny.

Still, if you put another building on the lot between BCBS and Aqua, projecting balconies are not going to help at all. Only for the corner units, maybe.

Gang could become a bigger heroine if someone would giver her some bigger dragons to slay.

Can we form an SSP Mafia to force developers to hire decent architects?
