Route 90 South, Route 90 North. And get rid of all the names. It only confuses people.

Can't do it as city rules don't allow new street names that sound like existing street names to eliminate emergency services dispatch issues. There is a Louis Riel Street (only 1 block long) off of Dollard Blvd by St. Boniface Hospital.

Maybe we could change it to David Chartrand Blvd. as eventually there will be pressure to name something after him .

No go as there is a Juba street out in Brookland. Also runs foul of the sound alike rule

Does it even need to be named after a person? Why not just call it route 165 its metro route number?

I actually love the idea of making the inner ring all Route 90, and using N S E W to distinguish, on CPT, Bishop, Lag, Kenaston etc respectively. Also works nicely with the outer ring (perimeter) being 100, and inner then 90.

They can name it after the waterway that runs along part of it. Lot 16 Drain Boulevard

The city uses N S E W to distinguish the direction of traffic (e.g. Route 90 North means northbound on Route 90). Which would lead to things like "Route 90 West North" under your idea.

Just call our inner ring road network the "Circlejerk Causeway" and call it a day.

Or Donut Drive.

Or Concentric Way.

Or Bagel Boulevard.

But in all seriousness, names like Treaty One Way, Terry Fox Blvd, Dale Hawerchuk Trail, or even Elijah Harper Blvd would be worthy names.

Wrong Juba, the street in Brooklands named after Juba’s brother a councillor.

I don't think you could change the Lagimodiere portion to 90 or anything else as it is already numbered 59. As 59 extends north and south of the city portion it would be confusing to have 2 numbers for the same highway. Not that the city hasn't done this elsewhere - Salter, Isabel, Balmoral, Memorial, Osborne, Dunkirk, Dakota.

Doesn't matter who, its the name that gets flagged under the sound alike road name rule. It might even get flagged as sounding like Steven Juba park.

Of course city council (or the appropriate standing committee) can override the public service and allow it if they deemed it was in the public interest.

Treaty One Way has a nice ring to it. That'd be my pick.

I'm dying over here, torn as I am between these ideas. I think I can reconcile them: for Circlejerk to be a real causeway it has to go through water. For that, I propose expanding Lot 16 Drain into a vast, navigable linear lake called... Lot 16 Drain. This has a knock-on effect: adjacent properties become prime, waterfront property. People will surely ditch their cars and take their sailboats to Wal Mart.

The problem area in this tweet is on the west side of Henderson which was built of concrete and maintained the city as part of the original Chief Peguis bridge project.

The PPP built and maintained roadway is east of Henderson.

hahaha... busted towing that line again.

Expansion joints are not really a thing in roads. That's what happens when it's record high temps out. Found lots of sidewalks having same issues on my walks this weekend.

Concrete road expansion, cracking, heaving due to excessive heat happens all over the world. Look it up, there are pictures from everywhere.
