Thanks Urbannizer for all of the updates. Also thank you for the speedy response when it comes to thread status being changed. The one mod that responds very quickly and gets the job done!

Project: Residences at La Colombe d'Or

With 285 high-end apartments, the building is scheduled to break ground during the second quarter of next year.

The new tower is being planned for a site just behind the original mansion in place of a parking lot and the ballroom, which Zimmerman says will be replaced on another site nearby at some point in the future. The owner plans to save the existing wood paneling and fixtures to reuse in the new ballroom. The hotel will remain in place.

No, the tower next door(The Rise at Northgate) is a few floors taller. I think it may be the tallest locally, Emporis lists it as ~219 feet.

I'm actually not sure what B/CS's tallest building is. The list on Emporis seems wrong and may not take into consideration the "control tower" on top of the Eller building on the TAMU campus. Also I can't find how tall Kyle Field is. And, I'm not sure how tall the Plaza Hotel was, it was imploded in 2012 but was likely the tallest building in the city.

In any case, there are 5 or 6 "true highrises" over 10 floors in College Station already.

To build the hotel Alamo Manhattan must obtain increased development density from the city. Segrest said the firm is starting to meet with neighborhood groups and city planners about the project.

If everything goes as planned, construction would start in 2018 with an almost 2-year building period.
