I saw some renderings the other day of the new learning common to be built soon at the LSC and it look stunning! A very modern piece of architecture. Unfortunately I cannot find any renderings online.
From yesterday.
Not many know about this tree, but it is right beside the construction site and is one of the oldest on the Peninsula. It was almost destroyed to make way for an access road for the site. Thankfully some staff noticed and made them change the route of the road. It would take probably 3 or 4 people to wrap their arms around the trunk. It is massive.
Its been a while since this one has had a photo posted, so I snagged one tonight. They are working on the top floor steel, and the concrete on the south side is almost topped out. For some reason the last column line or two was started after the building was topped out, maybe due to site restrictions or specific requirements of this building as I'm sure its way more complicated than the average residential build.
A quick photo by me on Saturday, looks as if the crane will be coming down soon.
With all the construction occurring, the crane will be needed somewhere.
Hopefully the construction boom will continue for several more years. It will be interesting to see if the HRM reaches $1 billion in building permits this year

It certainly will, once the Nova Centre start is announced, the 12 months from that period should set a new record! It seems that a lot of development is just about to start, maybe Nova Ctr. will be the catalyst.
