A Power Construction Instagram post said the smaller tower topped out and the top down construction bottomed out this week.

Can confirm the climbing forms are starting to come down from the shorter tower. But I think there's still mechanicals and a parapet screen to go.

Crazy that they were still digging down as the building above was soaring 700+ feet.

A top out and a bottom out in the same week! How often does that ever happen. Nice sequencing by the construction team

I don't care if it's sub 1000ft, this thing is going to look and feel like a supertall from just about any angle. Was driving down the Kennedy the other day and boy is this building noticeable.

A small part of me, though very very unlikely, hopes they decide to slap on 30' of crown to the top to elongate the current look and illuminate it at night. A boy can dream

Yes I agree this will look great and it is so close to 1,000 feet it won't make any difference-it will look like a supertall-and a very nice one at that Chicago stays keeping the new skyscraper relevancy up for the Midwest. These skyline shots just keep getting better and better it seems.

What that last pic screams to me is a wishful hope that someday that MCA will be torn down, relocated, and there will be a direct vista from the Water Tower over a new land bridge connecting the lakefront path across a buried LSD to go along with a revamped Park between.

In my hearts of hearts I really believe this thing will hit a 1000ft or close to it. If I’m the developer my ego is picking at me.

I thought similarly except I wish for a supertall in place of the MCA. The JHC needs more company on the northside of the skyline!
