Gio becomes only the fourth defenceman in NHL history to score 60+ points at 35 or older. With some pretty amazing company (Lidstom, Zubov, and MacInnis, IIRC). Frontrunner for the Norris trophy right now too - love this guy.

Gio is a Machine! Really hope the Flames can do some damage in the playoffs before his age catches up with him.

I think he's had it with Edmonton. Gotta feel for the guy..he should somehow be traded where his talents will actually take him somewhere. Last night's game was a shitacular performance as usual by the coilers. No I did not mispell lol. I'm pretty pissed at this dumpster fire team.

Don't worry, they will win tonight, probably handily.

Two worst run franchies in Canada. Could be interesting.

Mcdavid could have been so happy... and everyone else in the country so very sad.

I'm impressed with Morgan Reilly... 2nd in points by a defenceman and he's only 24 - while everyone else close to him in points is 29 or older.

I'd give Gio the Norris nod because he's a top defensive defenseman as well, but Reilly looks like he's on a trajectory that could earn him that trophy soon.

How many more years of the shitshow in Edmonton will McDavid bear before he demands a trade?

How long is his contract again?

Get over yourself. McDavid is supposed to be the captain and leader and be a part of the solution, not some whiny little brat that runs from it. He's shown nothing but professionalism and honoring his (record setting) deal is part of that.

McDavid won't want to spend his entire career with a bottom feeder organization, if the Oilers don't get their shit sorted out in the next few years he will totally request a trade.

Right.

There is a lot of talk from Calgary about bottom feeding organizations and McDavid trade requests after one good year down there. Is there some super record of excellent performance down there I missed or is the marginally better performance over the past decade, that's resulted in winning nothing, that notably different? Didn't you guys fire your coach after last year?
Which team went deeper into the playoffs more recently?

Keep dreaming.

The flames better light it up post season or Johnny is gonna demand a trade or some stupid bullshit.

Haha, triggered much?

The Oilers are perennial bottom feeders (1 playoff appearance in 13 seasons including this year), drafting in the top 10 what, 10 times in that stretch. But hey, you guys made it to the second round 2 years ago and we got swept, better cling to that come April!

Yea it's a organization that sucks, is arrogant and makes terrible management and personnel decisions.
So what? Every oilers fan knows that.

Guess what else, until ol Cowtown wins something, stones and glass houses.

Pray your regular season matures into something other than a first round exit, maybe they will do as well as the Oilers two years ago...

Theres a bit of difference between being an average, or even below average team, and turning 4 first overall draft picks in 6 years into absolutely nothing.

All failures are not created equal

Says a guy from Toronto...ha
6-1 tonight, Matthews is walking for sure. Tavares is gonna ask for a trade back.
