They needed it to have a spire (which housed an antenna) as a plot device.

Wow! that last pic is so iconic. No need for a title to tell you where this is. Just so different from every other world class city where you only see the skyline but never the skyline and a park and people and family homes to show the city has a soul.

An update to the images on the crown....

Does anyone know about the art installation on the crown?
It seems like there are countless images and designs they could use.
Yet, it is the same couple of images that have been in place since the beginning.

Salesforce Tower is spectacular ! I believe that with the Parcel F tower and Oceanwide center once completed it won't look so dominating, like it does now over the rest of the skyline. It will form more of a perfect peak on the skyline.

WeWork is departing its West Coast headquarters in Salesforce Tower as it markets the entire three-floor office for other tenants.

The New York co-working company listed 76,401 square feet available on the 36th through 38th floors of San Francisco’s tallest building, according to a marketing brochure reviewed by The Chronicle.

What matters most is where they hold the bankruptcy hearing. That should fill a few high rolling hotel rooms.
