Wilshire and La Jolla today

I've been eagerly awaiting this one. Should help revitalize the stretch of Wilshire between La Cienega and Fairfax

It'll take some anti-NIMBY efforts, but that stretch of Wilshire between La Brea and La Cienega should be a significant development area of under-utilized lots (there are several) over the next decade or so, with the Purple Line extension coming in. I'm hoping to see a lot more highrise proposals in that area, especially between Fairfax and San Vicente, where there are a particularly high number of available or underutilized properties.

Completely agree, that stretch is screaming for more residential development and a total makeover with the subway as bookends.

However, I don't believe there is any other lot with entitlements in progress or a big developer with plans sitting on the shelf. Add in the multi year time horizon to get something approved in this town it will likely be ages before we see another groundbreaking sadly.

It's one of the most under-developed prime stretches of real estate in LA. East to West — closed restaurant, 99 cent store, abandoned building, McDonalds

It's a bit further east, but there's that proposed 42 story tower - https://urbanize.la/post/400-million...d-miracle-mile

And also that under construction tower just east of LACMA.

Both great looking projects. Things don't have to skyhigh to be beautiful.

The Wilshire and Curson tower is moving really fast, must be 10-12 floors up already-

I hope you're right. I walk by it almost every day and it looks like it could be. Since Netflix rented all the office space in the low rise buildings, though, I am worried it will be more of a company complex and less inviting to the neighborhood. I was told by a supervisor on site that delivery is scheduled for October 2020 btw

Couple of updates over the last week or so...

Cumulus
From a week ago. Getting close to wrapping up the tower, and the mid-rise along La Cienega has started wood framing and is going up quickly.

Century Towers
From a cloudy Sunday. You can't see if from this angle, but the towers are now about equal height with the hotel. Roughly a third of the way up.

Check out the big changes to what was formerly Academy on Vine and is now just On Vine. Pedersttian bridges between the two office buildings were added among other things -

Are the twins confirmed to have a final height of 600 feet? If so, taller than the triangle twins across the street by over 30', and tallest outside of DTLA (for now). Will make an imposing sight from the 405. I guesstimate they should top out no later than next spring, maybe April or May? Of course some (needed) rainstorms could slow things down.

I remember when they demo’d the building that had been there before back in ‘09 but quickly paved it over into a parking lot instead of beginning construction on the previous iteration. Glad to see something finally happening there.
