Although we can all agree that Streeterville high rises have terrible bases, it's still funny to see the vice president of Columbia College concerned about building height when they have a large one facing Grant Park

I was at the meeting near the back so I couldn't hear terribly well, but the Columbia VP is in charge of the Wabash Arts Corridor and wanted this development's involvement. The comment about Streeterville was in reference to its street level character/interaction, not its height. I believe he even spoke favorably on the height and in creating an architectural icon for the neighborhood. The crowd was very positive.

I really like this design. It reminds me or at least appears to look like 50 West. The crown at least. Elegant, and sleek in its nature with its curves on the sides. This looks like a promising project that's a healthy addition to the current stock.

Not sure about the base... but will wait for clearer renders.

832 feet is pretty short for 74 floors plus that crown.

From some angles it's a clear upgrade from the previous design, and from others it looks hideous. Hopefully they continue to tweek it

Love the tower, kinda hate the base. They feel so incoherent, it needs to be a more fluid design. Wish the tower extended to the street. Could have made a much nicer entrence and street presence

I really don't care if it breaks the 1000' barrier, I'd rather see a shorter, better design/version like this.

My only complaint is that the base doesn't relate well to the tower.

The building looks like its starting out in one though then changing its mind. I am ok with the top but curious why the design at the base? The two pieces dont seem to go together. I prefer the box form for this location.

No love for this one. The base is horrible, doesn't fit the existing building to the north anywhere near as well. A very clunky ham fisted transition to the tower.
I do like the smooth cataliever better than the stack of boxes, but that's it. This is a misfire.
