It really is much more amazing in real life than on paper. Really striking.

I'm loving the glass side of this building. Wonder why they never really seemed to show it in the renders.

Glass at the bottom will likely be installed once the crane is removed.

It's amazing to me that it seems like this spent more time demolishing the existing 1-floor building than it will getting all the way to topped out.

Demolition started on February 3rd, 2020. Vertical construction started about September 2020. So it was ~7 months to demolish the 1 story building and it's been ~8 months to build 26 floorplates.

Yeah, I remember the photos of the demolition guys wearing bunny suits carrying out bags of asbestos contaminated material. It's a lengthy process. It's a bit crazy to think that it takes longer to remedy that old building material than it does to build a modern skyscraper that is at least 10 times taller than what was there before.

Re: Demo. Remember part of the complexity of the demo is that the basement level was linked to the State Theatre! That took more care/time. There is plenty of documentation of that to go back and look at.

Still waiting on that crane jump as it didn’t occur last weekend- likely due to inclement weather.

I think the construction workers all quit. it really hasn't been raining every day, all day, after all! That crane jump ain't happening until the cows come home and replace the absent workers, it seems. But then I remember that it seemed like it would take years, if not centuries, for 70 Rainey to get built, considering all the months they seemed to have only 3 on site workers, and I would LOVE to have a west-facing condo there!. While they've been waiting to jump the crane here, 6X has had multiple significant night time concrete pours in very questionable weather conditions, but each time, what looked like it might have turned into a good storm, judging from the approaching lightning, they lucked out and only had to deal with only a few hundredths of an inch during the pours.
As for Drummer's mention of the Omni, I remembered nobody even really talked about it until it popped up one day. I remembered thinking about it as a ginormous huge massive building kind of like we're all talking about the appearance of 6X.
What a difference just a few years (sort of) makes!

Considering I have only seen 2 construction workers on this site in over a week, and the web cam has been down for quite some time, now, it occurs to me that
something unusual is going on at the site, but I have no idea what it might be.

Maybe the cows couldn't find their way back home and ended up at some other place where the grass was greener? Or at least there WAS some grass. Maybe they ended up at the XXXXXX Ranch?

The webcam has been working until sometime late Saturday night. It was working earlier Saturday evening when I checked it. But even with the storms we have been having, it seems like they could have done the jump already.
