Congratulations maccoinnich!

DJC’s 2016 Newsmakers announced

The Daily Journal of Commerce has announced its list of Newsmakers for 2016.

The Newsmakers awards event, now in its eighth year, recognizes individuals, private companies, public agencies and organizations that had an impact on, or played a significant role in, the region’s built environment during the past 12 months as well as those expected to have a significant impact during the coming year.

“The Newsmakers luncheon is a chance to celebrate the accomplishments of this industry in the moment,” DJC Publisher Nick Bjork said. “But more than that, it’s the only chance to get all these amazing people in the same room, making connections that will allow for even better things in the future.

...

The 2016 Newsmakers are:

• American Assets Trust

• BluBloc

• Brian Emerick (Emerick Architects)

• DR Johnson Lumber Co.

• EC Company

• Holst Architecture

• Iain MacKenzie (Next Portland)

• Interface Engineering

Great job! This is well deserved for all you've done to keep us informed about what's happening in Portland I'm glad to see you're getting some recognition. Maybe they'll give you a free subscription to DJC now (not that you need it) Wouldn't be surprised if the staff there reads Next Portland all the time.

Keep up the great work!

Thanks guys. I was totally surprised when I got the phone call from the DJC on Friday.

Sadly our office sweep did not win the lottery, but I guess this is cool too.

I absolutely love this forum and have been dedicated to tracking Portland developments for over a decade now. The SSP Portland forumers really are the best! 10 years or so ago I desired to be an urban planner when I grew up, however my career path took me in a different direction. That career path now demands more time and travel and has left me at times unable to consistently moderate this forum, not that it needs a lot of moderating...most of the time...

A couple months ago I reached out and asked Maccoinnich to join me as a co-moderator of SSP Portland and he has agreed. The forum administrators have also agreed! In the next couple days (or weeks, they're a little slow around here) you'll notice Maccoinnich's account will be adjusted. Once he becomes an active mod, feel free to reach out to him or me (or both) should questions, comments or concerns arise.

Please also welcome Maccoinnich as our newest moderator. He has been an amazing addition to this forum and we are so lucky to have him around!
