Starting to get the hang of posting pictures. This is from two weeks ago. I will probably post a series of Northern Liberties in a couple weeks because the area is absolutely brimming with construction.

Well, that’s definitely under construction! Will move this now.

I see at least one tower crane base! Thanks for the photos Nelson - would love to see more NoLibs, Fishtown, Olde Kensington photos.

Took these on my walk around Northern Liberties today. I will also be doing a photo dump on the Lowrise Thread.

You love to see it!

A mind-blowing number of new units within the vicinity of 2nd and Germantown are about to come online, which will definitely be a boon to the businesses in and around the Piazza!

Yep it's a building boom in that area and nearby on American Street. These are just a few of the big ones I recall:

Dwell at 2nd and Thompson
https://www.dwell2ndstreet.com/

South Liberty Triangle at 1115-1127 N. American Street
https://streamlinephilly.com/propert...erty-triangle/

North Liberty Triangle
https://streamlinephilly.com/propert...erty-triangle/

1525 N. American
http://www.rising.realestate/110-uni...in-kensington/

171 W. Berks St
http://www.ocfrealty.com/naked-phill...ll-start-first

1805 N. Howard St
http://www.rising.realestate/45-unit...berks-el-stop/

Now if we could only get some shiny new buildings instead of the 711 and McDonald's at front and Girard...

The lots that have baffled me for some time are the NE and NW corners of Girard and Mascher. So close the the El Stop and Northern Liberties and Fishtown.

They've been listed over and over again for the last 11 years, every time for a higher price-- it's current listing as has been active for 2 years.

That said, the lot on the the NW corner now has permit for a 20-unit building, so maybe someone finally has them under contract or perhaps they're trying to add approved plans to the listing. Either way, something's got to give with those lots, and that's what the owner has been counting on all this time.

Looks like this is THREE towers now - 16 floors, 12 floors and 12 floors.

From BKV Group's website:

Quote:
Piazza Terminal is a series of steel stud framed buildings over a two-story concrete podium. This strategy creates a variety of scales for the large development of 1,166,980 GSF. The tallest tower elements, at 16 stories tall, form a backdrop to a central courtyard plaza edged by retail occupancies in the smaller scale buildings that surround the plaza. This plaza connects a newly designed woonerf on Germantown Street to North Hancock Street, which integrates the site into the urban fabric.
