Couple more cranes up at the North Shore Wastewater Treatment Plant and one down at the Arbutus Centre redevelopment.

Current count stands at 201.

Crane for 8888 Osler, in Marpole along Marine Drive, is up and there is a decent sized hole in the ground. Not sure if that had made the list already. It's a standard hammerhead

Maybe you saw the crane for the childcare centres being built on the roof of the Gastown parkade? Blood Alley / Stanley + New Fountain is still being demolished and cleared - there's no construction there yet.

Ah, thanks - that must be it.
Saw it from the office, so specific site was hard to determine.

By the way, what is your plan with this statistics? Or you collect these numbers just for fun? ))) are there any official statistics related to this subject? I think the city halls should keep this data updated, or some special public services like fleetupmarketplace.com and you would be able to see the real time numbers (although I am not sure if such data is for public use, but asking would not be a problem) By the way, could you post the actual table?
No plan, I just collect them out of curiosity and to use in a general capacity to understand the construction levels / health of the development industry in the City.

I just did a large update, added a few and dropped a couple dozen.

I've also added a 'construction status' and 'date updated' tab because I was having a tough time remembering which projects were which and I figure this will help keep track and remind me when to check in on completing projects.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...aRA/edit#gid=0

The new total is 171, which is still a very large number for a city the size of Vancouver, but it is the lowest since I started keeping track.

I expect that number to drop a bit over the coming 12 months then shoot back up again on the back of another wave of residential and infrastructure development.

The crane at the Mirabel is down so that's one less on the downtown peninsula.

I wonder how long before we see a new crane erected downtown? Although there are a lot of projects on the drawing board, I can't think of one that is being excavated now.

Looks like we all missed one at RecRoom on Granville, so that's your answer!

Other than that it's a pretty bleak pipeline, nothing in excavation as far as I can tell.

Count is now down to 167. I expect it to keep dropping to below 150 before going back up again in 12-18 months.

November 2019 when that Onni crane failed from WorkSafe BC:

"Johnson says there are roughly 300 tower cranes active in the province, with about 250 of them in the Lower Mainland."

Are these two cranes near Coquitlam Centre on the list? Polygon's project?

Good find! My count on the NE of the metro is likely quite inaccurate. My day to day takes me from Vancouver to Richmond, Burnaby, the north shore and on occasion New West, but rarely to Coquitlam or Port Moody.

If anyone has updates for those regions I'd gladly accept!

Anyway the tracker is up to date, 171 is the current count.

Might be a crane popping up at Lions Gate Hospital soon. I think they're starting work on their new acute wing soon.

And Royal Columbian has at least two cranes setup for their redevelopment?

Great, didn't even think about Royal Columbian expansion. Added.

Numbers are inching back up now with additions to Oakridge and Royal Columbian we're up to 174.

Did a crane go up somewhere near Broadway and Granville?

Edit: it's a PCI crane

The crane base has been installed at Concert's Tesoro (on Quebec), so that should be up any day now.

2 Crane erections in a couple weeks on Broadway, surprised given the development slowdown pending the Broadway Plan.

Thanks for the info Jollyburger and ChaningCity

I saw a small crane last night on the west side of Boundary Rd just north of the McDonalds at Lougheed Hwy for a small commercial/industrial office building.
