Agreed, however, other cities have used Historic, entertainment or other designations for areas to keep taxes low to help prevent running out the established businesses and changing the character of an area . I do not know what can be done in Austin, in Texas, however, at some point something needs to be tried to preserve whats left. That is if the citizenry and landowners and business owners and government care to.
