I imagine so, yes -- that was the original plan (whole project is 1120 - 1130 State; 1120 is the Lou's property). The Lou's portion will still remain low-rise even though it will be rebuilt/expanded (according to rendering and original plans).

I wonder if this design is still in play?

Dang, they chopped this thing 130'? 465 would have been some nice height over there.

The taller design was a monolithic slab. Most recent design (posted above) is far better, IMO -- more articulated, better facade treatment, meets the street better... The massing should give nice depth to vistas looking N up Rush and State.

"Reduced density

Eliminated 2nd floor retail

Eliminated 84 apartments

Lowered height from 465' to 345' "

Oh yes, it is soooo much better.

Meh. Although taller, the prior design was pretty half-baked and not pretty.

Plan Commission presentation is up for 357 N Green. Since 357 N Green is going to be ~500 ft, decided it's worth while to make a thread for it. Posted the presentation in the thread: https://skyscraperpage.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=254989

Could a mod please sticky this to the Chicago forum?

527 W. Kinzie?

Any news on 527 W. Kinzie (the lot next to Cassidy Tire). I know that Vornado is planning on building there - haven't heard anything lately.

A lot better than most of the newer stuff over there. Street frontage looks pretty active. I'll take it.

If you take a look at streetview, it looks like that strip mall has been around since at least pre 2007 (rehabbed in 2008/9).

Excellent design! I really appreciate that they put effort into the design to make it look different from the newer buildings going up in the area. It will be a nice addition to the Fulton Market skyline. Hopefully the design will stay the same as much as possible.

In the presentation, it looked like the second iteration of the design was going to be a taller height than the current iteration. Almost 600 feet I think?
