Yeah, the west sidewalk is already decent from Grand up to Chicago. South of Grand, there are a lot of older buildings on the west side of State. Cantina Laredo is the only recent one, but it seems they weren't required to follow the setback. If they ever do want to change the cross-section, it'll be expensive to move all the subway vents.

Also, seems to be a trend with arcades on the east side of State. I always assumed this was a directive from DPD. Loyola did this at their business school, Grand Plaza, Hilton Garden Inn, Palomar, etc.

I'm surprised at how quickly The Marlowe grew. They topped out back in early October when they only got their tower crane in early June. Now they're almost done with covering the building in glass, and plan to open in early 2018. If only more high-rises took about 9 months to be built, we could cover much of Chicago in 12-15 story buildings

You think that Chicago is losing something urban/city wise by demolishing Atrium Village?

Really? https://www.google.com/maps/place/20...!4d-87.6350111

Or are you talking about the various developments in Streeterville which were vacant surface lots usually or once upon a time...warehouses?

Damn straight. Those River North parking lots were gems. They don’t build um like that any more!

I think we're all going to miss Prentice, but overall I think some minds will be changed when/if the tower gets built. Will be a nice sight change driving down lakeshore. How tall was the tower portion supposed to be again?

Same. It was an interesting building but I didn't really like it much. Looks like someone trying too hard to be futuristic but that's just my own opinion.
