Aston Martin might be the most exciting thing going up in Miami at the moment. This is turning out just as good as the renderings, and will have a pretty significant impact on the skyline. Loving it!

It's looking better than I thought and a great addition to the skyline

Aston Martin is looking amazing, but any chance the Okan Tower will start this year? That's one of the coolest looking towers ever, hope that Turkish billionaire is still at it.

Cool ! Another Metrorail TOD office building. Most probably going to be leased by Lawyers who will have quick access to the Courts downtown.

These are going to be the first ones lost to climate change.

I’m staying in Brickell right now. This place has changed a lot.

Honestly don’t remember but it would have been passing through, and when I last lived in NYC, so 2012 or earlier.

And I’m here because the UK is probably the most miserable place in the developed world right now, so I’m working remotely from Miami instead.

There’s certainly a SE Asian feel to it, a bit like Singapore.

Cool article about new projects, I wonder if Skyrise is still in the works.

There is something Singapore-ish about it, a lot of high-rises and tropical weather I guess.

I’ve decided to stay for most of April as I got a great monthly rate on a place in Downtown. It’s part of the “Miami Worldcenter” development and a nice building, but clearly not fully occupied and the surrounding blocks are all U/C. This is clearly a neighbourhood that will change a lot in 5-10 years too.

Not sure if you know the history of that area but back in the 1980's it was called " Park West" and the local Governments were trying to redevelop the area into a low/ middle income neighborhood. This is where they originally built the Miami Arena and some rental highrises but it just never caught on as a happening place.
It finally took the developers of "Miami WorldCenter" to realize the potential of the area and started assembling the 27 acres that now make up the project.
I agree that when completed it will transform that part of Downtown Miami.

There’s a new tallest tower south of Brickell.
A TOD residential tower at Link at Douglas has now topped off at 36 stories, according to shell contractor L&R Structural.

In total, five towers are planned at Link at Douglas on a property adjacent to the Metrorail station there.
An office tower called 3705 South is also planned.

NEMA | 38 Stories | Proposed

Construction Permit Filed For Organic Supermarket With 588 Apartments Near Midtown
June 24, 2021

Address: 2900 Biscayne Blvd.

The permit application was submitted on June 21.
A nationally known organic supermarket chain has signed a lease to anchor the project, the developer said last year.

According to the permit application, the tower will rise 38 stories and include 588 apartments.
The estimated hard construction cost is listed at $164,982,826.

The supermarket will be located within a total of 42,030 square feet of retail, according to a utilities agreement signed with the county last month.

At least one other tower is planned on the property, but architectural plans for any additional phases have not yet been submitted to the city for review.

The apartment building will be named Nema.
Stiles is listed on the permit as the construction contractor.

That emptiness you're feeling about downtown Miami may have something to do with Miami being the offshore "home/condo stock" for Latin Americans to park their investments... IJS

Those are secondary homes. They don’t count as Miami residents.
