As slow as this is going, I still think it's going to look pretty awesome next to the park from this angle as well as looking up S. 1st to the north.

Do we know anything about ground floor in this building? Can we expect food or shopping? I think a coffee shop or juice bar would be huge right next to the park right there.

I recall there being a restaurant space with an outdoor patio. I'm not sure what else though.

That block would be a great location for a Hooters.

I like this building a lot. It's kind of the western border of what will become the South Shore district. I expect a lot of infill eventually to the east towards Congress and Riverside, but this will always be the first thing you're gonna see from the Long Center and the park. And I think we're all gonna like the park-facing glasswork -- lots of potentially cool reflections.

I just want to say that I think the Hyatt surface lot between their tower and S. 1st is begging for something.

Interestingly . . . I'm a former Hyatt employee, and there were strong rumors that (back in 2016 when I was still with them) it was going to be another hotel tower. Just like everyone else, Hyatt's pretty bullish on Austin.

But it's been years now . . . and I haven't really heard anything since. And I'm no longer on their rolls, so . . .

It was more than a rumor, but I believe what they were planning was mostly residential.

I wish they'd done something more productive with the massive parking garage on congress. That's going to be a major disconnect between this block and whatever happens on the south shore.

Wow! I don't remember that. Whatever happened to that? I'm assuming it went away.

I really like the three angles on that glass face. Super cool how it creates the different colors - sunsets will be beautiful.
