The crane really livens up the skyline doesn't it?

Thanks for posting the pictures. I like the BMO building however it sounds like it might change radically in the future. This picture will become a solid image of glass (I am not complaining, but in this case maintaining a bit of concrete might actually be good).

It will be a bit sad. I remember my Dad taking me across on the ferry at night to see several Voyagers games and how impressive that BoM tower was to me as a 10 year old. I can still picture the old blue "M" logo shimmering in the water.

This looks good - especially the full size version in your link.

Nice

Makes me not want to see the BMO building changed. It really does stand out in the skyline.

Salter and Queen's Landing should make a positive impact over the next few years.

thanks guys,

and i have to agree about BMO. at first the thought that changing BMO would be a good thing but the more i look at it the more i seem to change my mind. and since the other two towers are going to be glass, why not leave it.

I agree, BMO has a good exterior cladding, it adds to the mix of glass that eventually will fill the skyline! TD, RBC, IP

I do like its qualities, but it could do with some retouching. If you look up close at the BMO the cladding is not in very good shape.

I've always wondered about the little chunk of old brick wall that's part of the building on the right of the third picture. Anybody know what that was originally? Some kind of hospital building? Old Victoria General?

There have been major medical and related buildings in this area for a long time - since the mid-1800s or so.

Could be part of the old civic hospital which stood right about there. I was treated there for a couple of things when I was young. It was torn down in the eighties, I think.

Nice shots. The red bricl bldg in the third shot:
Centre for Clinical Research
5790 University Avenue

The Centre for Clinical Research (CCR) is located on University Avenue, adjacent to the Mackenzie Building of the QEII Health Sciences Centre. The CCR is a program of the QEII Health Sciences Centre - one of Canada's leading teaching hospitals, located in the heart of Halifax, Nova Scotia. The QEII has a strong commitment to health research in all disciplines.

The Centre for Clinical Research administers, facilitates and coordinates all research which is carried out at the QEII.

The front of the bldg might have been upadated, since it resembles the MacKenzie bldg.

The old civic hospital was on the site of the present IWK parking garage (where the pictures were taken, great spot for photos).
