I noticed new windows being installed in this apartment building this past summer.
All the units in the building were gutted to the studs at that time too. I wonder if the parking lot is going to become some sort of staging area for a more involved exterior recladding, or if it’s another building entirely.

With all the development along this stretch of road, the upgrades to Dutch Village Road can’t come soon enough.

Newish zoning in that area allows 19.5 metre height with a 10.5 metre streetwall. Max lot coverage is 75%. No minimum setbacks.

Is there a plan to build real sidewalks and curbs along the other side of the street?

It's intriguing that something may be built on the underdeveloped land next to that old apartment building. It could really tie the area together. The houses don't look like they'd be great to live in either, with so much traffic and parking around them.

Yes and protected bike lanes that connect to COLT.

Shape Your City Halifax - Dutch Village Road (on the top right is the approved functional plan)

I lived in The Boss for awhile. Worst landlord I’ve ever had. Absolutely horrible. The people running that outfit (United Gulf / GFA) are borderline criminals. Couldn’t get out of there fast enough.

A definite improvement. Too bad it doesn't look like they plan to put the power lines underground.
