Surprisingly nice by Brampton's standards. 151 Main st. N in the heart of downtown. Looks about 30 stories tall.

Bristol Place towers. 48 storeys Pre Construction. Main/Queen St. Sorry for the size of the pic. Extraordinary height for Brampton but less than ordinary design.

Assuming that at least half of all proposals get built, around what year will Downtown Brampton actually have a skyline?

There already is one.. albeit a small one. 4 new towers have been built in the downtown in the past year... they're all in the midst of being topped out.
Things are notoriously slow in Brampton when it comes to development, but the city is making some progress.. I don't imagine all these proposals will get built.. but i think it would be safe to assume half will. Timeline for these projects, who the hell knows?...that's Brampton.

Spent most of my life in Brampton and really only moved away (half hour away) in 2013. Downtown didn't have a whole lot to offer unless going once in a blue moon or you're really into theatre performances.

I'm happy that they redeveloped around the theatre to make something charming. I prefer historic, charming buildings in small downtowns over modern towers, but if Brampton can't be charming, then might as well go this route and get some momentum and critical mass going to hopefully make it a more attractive place that will actually draw people (older and younger) in from time to time for something to do.

However, I bet there's a fair number of residents who don't like that they can now or will soon be able to see towers above them while hanging around in their backyards. But, there's always that potential when you live in the downtown of a growing city. Surprised it took this long.

I like driving and or walking around the downtowns on the way to everywhere I go. I want Downtown Brampton to eventually be one of the place I'd regularly stop by on the way to visiting family at my old stomping grounds in Heart Lake.

So apparently these buildings got approved by the city lol, I was not expecting this but I’m glad it happened. https://www.brampton.ca//EN/City-Hal...-2021-0008.pdf

you know what Brampton really needs? a vibrant downtown. I drove through downtown on my way to get my haircut yesterday...eeeesh... it looks so worn down and depressing.. storefronts are closed left right and centre... I'm sure the pandemic contributed to that.. but even prior to the pandemic, there was literally NOTHING to do there... Barrie has a much more vibrant downtown with options of things to do.. that's what I really wish for Brampton... no more pawn shops, and 2nd hand shops...

I don’t have the link anymore but I'm pretty sure this building got approval from the city.

New proposal for this site, instead of a medical centre there will now be FOUR 48 storey towers… I highly doubt all four buildings will get approval at the proposed heights. https://planning.brampton.ca/Citizen...howInspection=

Brampton developments slowly sprouting up more and more now..

226 Queen st. east Brampton. would replace a dilapidated low rise hotel/rental building. This should also be Brampton's new tallest. Looks about 45 and 35 floors.

I'm not even going to post this on the Canadian proposals thread because, I mean, look at it!!! It's hideous.

The Boutin Tower.. could become Brampton's tallest at 42 floors.. Rentals, with a rooftop restaurant and grocery store at the podium.

Please, I'm putting this out to the universe...don't let this happen. It looks like it's been pieced together with the scraps of other buildings. Should this see the light of day, it will easily be in the running for Canada's Ugliest new tower.

Yea, I can't believe that's been proposed of all things. It's hideous....goodness.

I haven't been near Downtown Brampton in years, let alone bypassed it on the train. The last time I had a decent (passing by in a car*) look at it was about 8 years ago now, if not almost 8 years ago. I prefer it over Mississauga's, but it's surprised me how many proposals are now comign in for Brampton. For years, only half a dozen condos stood in the core, due to the slow planning process and the effect that had on developers thinking of possibly selling projects out to buyers. Oh, and well, I recall condo's not selling well for a while in Brampton about 10 years ago.
