I got to try the new Continental Treat downtown, and the food was great as usual. It looks like they adopted all the furnishings left behind by Hardware Grill.

^Tis a great and I mean GREAT addition to the core and particularly that spot. I've had many friends from Calgary, Vancouver go for a bite during recent conferences and they were impressed. It's also a fantastic pre-show/music/arts/game spot.

Closures

The Nook has closed its Downtown shop, having been “asked to vacate this location by the landlord.” They have moved their equipment and furnishings into storage while they look for a new home.

July 6 is National Fried Chicken Day! Jack's has a fried chicken sammy special, Northern Chicken also doing something. Don't think 104 Street location is open yet though.

Apparently it was a combination of COVID, ongoing LRT construction as wel as an unreasonable landlord (Five Oaks aka Gene Dub) that lead to the closure. When I last chatted with Lynsae, they were interested in looking at reopening in another location at some point.
