Rideau Centre roof-top park. This was before Nordstom moved in the Sears space (upper, right of the picture) and the mall expanded (upper, left of the picture). The roof now features a patio for the Nordstom restaurant and an entrance to Simons in the expansion. Ohterwise, no improvements.

The roof-top park used to cantilever down the old Congress Centre on the est side, but that feature was replaced when the new Convention Centre was built to turn its back to the park. All we have now at that end is a massive blank wall.
You can see Sears in the background for spacial reference.

New Convetion Centre is far superior as an event space, though it's quite disappointing that they placed 0 effort in trying to maintain at least some sort of a relationship with the Rideau Centre's roof-top park.
