Red face TORONTO| Bell Lightbox-Festival Tower | 514 FT / 158 M | 42 FLOORS

This tower has been under construction for a while now in downtown Toronto...it consists of a condo tower on top of a large podium containing several cinemas; the podium will eventually become the headquarters of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF)....

a few renders as posted at torontoist.com...

construction pics to follow!

Such a cool modern looking building...right beside that retro, dated eyesore Holiday Inn!!! I was in the area recently and noticed that they painted the bottom part of it black to make it look more sleek

IMO, festival tower (the tower itself) is not very architecturally unique but the podium makes up for it!

I would have liked something more unique for such a special building!

Too true

IMO the only reason UT is somewhat better is because it has SOOO many more members... (and more threads)... it's also dedicated for TORONTO...

***Skyscraperpage has a HUGE member list INTERNATIONALLY and has AWESOME (and epic ) SKYSCRAPER Drawings!!!!! SSP is legit in that sense..

** I think skyscraperpage looks nicer too (more colourful compared to UT's pale blue colour )...

I like SSP better cause it's a nicer place to chill.... But i absolutely had to get a UT account

Thanks guy for giving us updates on Toronto! I don't generally have time to look at UT and being in Halifax, the SSP posts have kept me up in the loop with Toronto development.

I'm loving everything I have seen and it will be a completely different city than it was when I lived there. I plan on taking full advantage when I eventually move back.

Wow. I love the podium/base on this building. The tower is so/so, (hard to tell from the rendering) but the base is really attractive. I like it very much.
