I love the grand entrance to the Hotel. Very classy. This is a great project!

Indeed it is. IMO it's the most underrated project in Calgary.

There will be 3 cranes at City Center. This one, one outside of the pit on the west side and another in the pit on the north side.

This might be a dumb question but how is the ramp removed once most of the pit is dug out?

Ramp Removal

Never a dumb question. The dirt is pushed into the corner in a steeper and steeper pile and the back hoes "pass" the dirt up to each other until there is not enough room to do that anymore. One hoe is left in the excavation and a new one with an extra long boom (arm) on it is brought in, which sits above and outside the excavation, to reach down into the hole while the bottom hoe feeds it material. If it is hole is too deep for the upper one to reach, a large box is lowered into the excavation for the lower hoe to fill and the box is then lifted out and emptied. Once all excavation is complete, the hoe is lifted out by crane. Hopefully this answers your question.

If they amend the DP does that mean they have to amend the BP as well?

Haven't posted in a long time.. long time, but I view updates daily.

Most likely they are getting the amendments through so they can start work on the base of the second tower if they want to make changes they have to do it now. Second tower would probably be built to ground level I'm thinking while the main tower rises.
