That's Bridgford Foods - the latest plans were in the 300 unit count so my guess is that this thing gets downsized to that range which is probably the 30-40 story range. We'll see though.

Good luck getting that past Alderman Burnett and the neighborhood association. I hope it does. At least a 50+ story tower, not necessarily this rendering.

Ald. Burnett has been pretty worried that West Loop might lose its momentum, so he's been wanting more developments in the area to bring back the local economy. The project could still end up with a height chop, but Ald. Burnett might not want to risk losing this project by having a big height chop

I like the height of the building at 745ft lets just hope that Alderman Burnett doesn't get in the way of that, but the design doesn't look very original or interesting, its something we've seen before so it would be nice if they change the design a bit to make it more interesting and unique

But either way this is a good sign for fulton market that development hasn't slowed down yet

A lot to process here; I've mentioned this on other projects in the West Loop and Fulton Market area, but it's most likely just a placeholder in terms of height (and design too); it's extremely unlikely the developer actually wants to build anything this tall. They will lop off 200' or so and pretend that's a 'concession' in order to get it approved, even though the reduced height is what they were originally planning for in the first place.

It's the same structural concept with a different skin... looking more and more likely that these are fictitious proposals, maybe done to drum up new business or to market the sites for sale to another developer.

Neither is real or even proposed by LJC. Both proposals were lifted, by Yimby, via screen grabs, from an ISSUU portfolio of a former LJC employee who had permission to use them for interviewing purposes. They are nothing more than pre-concept speculative feasibility studies. That portfolio, thought to be private, has since been removed. Yimby has been informed of the lack of accuracy in their reporting but elected to proceed. Onward.

There was much gnashing of teeth on this forum over ParkLine, but I have to say I really like it. It replaces a parking garage and furthers the canyon effect of the L. It meets the street quite nicely, too. It's not something that will be talked about at the Architectural Biennial across the street, but it's a solid addition to the Loop in my opinion.

I think many people fret over buildings not being taller as a "missed opportunity", but I for one am happy to see parking garages, parking lots, etc replaced by buildings like this.
