Those pics were superb. Is the modern business area of Amsterdam in its own area? Do they have their own version of La Defense in Paris whereas only a certain area can have skyscrapers, etc.? Someone did a thread on here recently and showed quite a bit of modern Amsterdam, which I expect some people don't even know exists considering it's rarely photographed. Naturally, people would be drawn more to scenes like these...it's hard to believe it even exists in this form. Anyway...thanks!

Modern scenes upcoming.

As for a La Defense type district of skyscrapers? Not to my knowldge. Towers are scattered about around the periphery of the historic city.

Zuidas would qualify as a kind of a "La Défense"-style area.

Great shots! Wanna go...

The area in Amsterdam which is supposed to become a La Defense style business district is called Zuidas ('south axis'), although due to height restrictions, it's not anywhere as impressive as its Parisian counterpart. There's some nice modern architecture though. Here's the website (in English).

O...and great photography Troyeth! Looking forward to more of your work!

Very nice! When you're in Amsterdam, you don't care about the weather. You're just thankful you're in Amsterdam.

Too cool. The place looks really cozy with those small alleys. Love seeing the bicycles all over the place too.
